The grappling wrestling team won two gold, two silver and two bronze medals, finishing as the second most successful nation at the 36th Ljubomir Ivanovic Gedza International Memorial Tournament in Mladenovac, Serbia.
According to information from the Hungarian Federation (MBSZ) on Sunday, the team's two European champions:
the 72-kilogram Róbert Fritsch and the 87-kilogram István Takács did not find a winner either, and the former also surpassed the Iranian-born world champion Serbian Ali Arsalan 3-2 in the final.
Erik Torba (60 kg), the silver medalist at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, and István Váncza (67 kg), the second runner-up at last year's European Games in Budapest, were both able to stand on the second step of the podium, while the 82-kilogram Péter Dömök and the world leader in the 77-kilogram Lévai Zoltán won a bronze medal. The World Cup and European silver medalist Lévai clashed again with the world champion and Olympic runner-up Akzsol Mahmudov, and the close match was decided by the video referee, and after a dubious situation - with a score of 2-1 - the hand of the Kyrgyz competitor was raised.
