The cat kicks me if I understand the world. But it would be at least as surprising if the world understood itself.
Somehow I can only understand that mentally ill people invented meat without meat (from vegetables!?) and I'm waiting to see what the salt-free salt will be like. What I didn't expect, but it came, is thoughtless thinking. Or let's say it like this: mindless stupidity. It doesn't even surprise me that they call something a peace fund, which is used to buy weapons, of course, the greatest possible number of tools suitable for killing is an essential condition for peace.
From there, it is only a small step to state the basic principle that human lives are best protected by a nuclear strike.
But what has just happened in Saudi Arabia is beyond imagination. A peace conference was held, to which one of the two warring parties was not invited. Well, they don't like the Russians, but then who are they negotiating peace with? Madness! It is like when a party is organized for Ödönke's birthday, but he is not invited. For what? It would also be a disturbing factor, after all, everyone would feel obliged to say hello, which, wouldn't it, distract attention from the party.
Ok, but I still don't know how to agree on a cessation of hostilities without one of the belligerents? I ask again, who are they negotiating with? Just not with the well-known Ukrainian pianist? He who daily repeats the speeches of Cato: And Carthage (Russia) must perish! Would this be the peace proposal? Well, there is something to discuss about that, there is no doubt.
By the way, Hungary somehow missed out on the list of invitees, which is not to be admired. After all, a serious peace conference does not lack a negotiator who wants peace. It would be as much of a distraction as the aforementioned Ödönke on his birthday. However, many generous hedgehogs can assure each other that the surest way to peace is to increase the intensity of the fighting, more weapons and more death.
Of course, I know what the "peace" councilors want. To win the Arab countries for the sake of the Ukrainians, to turn them against Russia. But isn't that like Hamlet's thoughts? Crazy talk, but there is a system to it. It's just that that system serves everything rather than the object of the conference, i.e. least of all peace.
If it were really peace negotiations, the Russian delegation would also be sitting opposite the Ukrainian one, and the others could - just like at a football match - encourage the parties in a loud voice: Go for peace! Come on peace!
At the time these lines were written, it was not yet known how the two-day gathering would end. But maybe I'm not wrong if I assume, knowing the facts, that there is not much talk about a cease-fire or peace negotiations. Perhaps yes, about peace plans that either the Ukrainian or the Russian side is unwilling to accept, and why negotiate them? The participants must know, I don't understand.
I fear that the white dove symbolizing peace will not fly into the air. Maybe instead of a peace plan, they will just release the dove. I could be wrong though….
