The XXI. A century without consequences. About the age of nuclear weapons and laser technology, where the digital world turns almost in the direction of diabolical solutions, when it flirts with the vision of artificially created humans.
A couple of decades ago, thirty years ago to be exact, we saw an idealized age of world peace before us, as the bipolar world ended just then.
The operational officers of the successor organizations of the CIA and the KGB fabricated new targets around the table - terrorism, organized crime - in order to avoid having to stand in line for unemployment benefits in the absence of an enemy. International politics really seemed to be cleared from the level of society and citizens. One of the perceptible aspects of this was that the area between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans began to flourish. Here, in Hungary, too, the old Pest vagrants, the indispensable tellers of the street, who had seen a lot during the socialist period, were thinking hard about how to avoid the "total boredom" that brings great reconciliation. Who will the political jokes and cabaret jokes be about?
It's a clean line, we thought, because the laws and rules, that is, the social trends, have become more transparent. Then came the shocking sobering up due to the switching of our previously well-functioning emergency alarms to stand-by status.
The banking crisis of 2008 was blamed on a few ambitious, forgetful, fraudulent bankers. We didn't overestimate the situation even when it turned out to have much more serious consequences than it started.
As soon as we got up, illegal immigrants flooded the land of Europe and the United States. We explained it because we wanted to make ourselves and everyone else understand that the arrivals are victims of wars or people who are forced to migrate to Europe due to loss of life. We argued, we debated, but the situation only got worse and worse, as the burning Paris, Marseille and other French cities now "brightly" prove. Then in 2020, the world was forced into house arrest due to the "release" of a tiny enemy, the coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2, so that after that societies split into pro-vaccination and anti-vaccination camps.
But the real blow to the hoped-for world peace is the war between NATO and Russia, which began as a Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict, and the whole process that comes from the realization that nothing is what it seems or what politics makes it look like and comments on.
So let's take a few examples of the lousy scams of the big political playing field, which are sometimes ordinary, but increasingly present in our century.
First case: The United States tightens the visa issuance for the citizens of its NATO ally, Hungary, in 2023 citing America's national security interest. What the democratic government does not consider a security risk is that hundreds of illegal immigrants without passports and visas cross the borders of the southern states of the USA every day.
Second case: Hungary is an anti-democratic, xenophobic society, where no one should speak as a "foreigner" if they want something good for themselves - it is spreading in the international public discourse. In the meantime, you can hardly see Hungarian signs on the streets of the capital Budapest due to the conquest of the English language. In nightclubs, the waiters speak in a foreign language - English, German, Italian or any other - before Hungarian, based on the fact that the dear guest is certainly one of the ever-increasing number of tourists visiting us. At the same time
of course, we do not ask for illegal immigration without identity - which is forced by the European Union - which is why our country is portrayed as a xenophobic nation. In 2019, before Covid, there was a foreign tourist invasion in Hungary similar to this year.
In addition, the EU bureaucrats do not even have a small contrast in mind, which has become a practice in Latvia, which is also an EU member and therefore clearly enjoys the friendship and support of the West, in recent weeks. It just so happens that the truly xenophobic solution is to forcibly deport thousands of Latvian citizens of Russian nationality to Russia because they cannot/will not pass the Latvian language exam.
In other respects, such a language test obligation is not prescribed for migrants who arrived illegally in Latvia. Obviously, in order not to offend the sensibilities of Brussels.
Third case: the American, French and other European countries are strongly blowing their war horns because of the military coup in Niger. They demand that the president of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, who was otherwise democratically elected with French money and support, be reinstated in the presidential seat by the putschists. Otherwise, the rumor goes, they will be forced to assert their will against the anti-democratic coup attempt with military force. One cannot agree with the political method of replacing presidents elected by the people (regardless of whose money) by forces prone to coups.
But!
So what happened in 2014 in Kyiv, on Maidan Square? Where - no one has denied this since - with the political support of the US and other Western countries, the putschists ousted the otherwise democratically elected former Ukrainian president, and even with armed support they keep the "descendants" of the putschists in power.
Would there be a democratic and an anti-democratic coup, because otherwise how could we interpret this duality, which is blatantly exposed before our eyes?
It's a bad feeling when we, the members of society, voters, consumers, thinking people, are considered stupid by the economic forces that want to rule the world - hand in hand with the subordinates of the political elite - ignoring the fact that their power is only a mandate for a certain period of time. On the other hand, the time of the civil masses of society never expires waiting for world peace.
