When it comes to the interests of minorities, the Ukrainian authorities show the whites of their teeth and prove that they do not respect Hungarians even in the town of Ilona Zrínyi.

The presidency of the Subcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association (KMKSZ) protests in a statement that the Munkács City Council appointed a director of Ukrainian nationality, who is not connected to the Hungarian community, to head the Hungarian school in Munkács.

The KMKSZ presidency "considers it regrettable that, while the court proceedings are ongoing, II. In the case of the unjustified dismissal of the director of Ferenc Rákóczi Secondary School, the Munkács City Council appointed a new director to head the school".

According to the presidency of the largest Hungarian interest protection organization, "it is also unacceptable that the appointment of the new director, who is in no way connected to the institution or the community, was carried out as an ultimatum, without consultation with the collective, parents and social organizations".

The method of appointment "calls into question the intentions of the city administration regarding the preservation of Hungarian-language education at the secondary school," according to the statement of the KMKSZ presidency.

Munkácsi II. The former director of Ferenc Rákóczi Secondary School, István Schink, was dismissed on January 17 this year, together with several well-respected Hungarian heads of institutions in the Münkac region. The case is still under court proceedings.

Marija Pauk, who was appointed head of the school on August 15, was previously the director of one of the kindergartens in Münkac.
