Not long before the start of the new school year, a cultural battle between the sexes broke out in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The relevant ministry led by the Christian Democrats insists on the normal spelling, while the Social Democrats and the Greens are on a rampage, reports V4na.com.
In the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the summer vacation is about to end and the new school year begins. In the previous year, compared to many other schools in Germany, they still gave in to the gender lobby and allowed the institutions to use different special characters to change the spelling of masculine, feminine and neuter nouns and different vowels, which express male or female occupations. However, this year, Christian Democrat (CDU) Education Minister Eva Feussner tightened the rules in this province, and
he banned genderization, which first gave rise to serious debates in the government coalition, and then directly sparked a culture war in the province. The Ministry of Education refers to the decision of the German Spelling Council regarding the banning of genders.
The coalition partner Social Democrats (SPD) do not agree with the CDU's decision, and the Greens are directly angry about it.
We, the SPD, stand for equality and diversity, especially with regard to the recognition and inclusion of different sexual identities - the social democrats responded on social media.
And the Greens believe that children should be introduced to these special spelling habits from a very young age, which can be used to express different sexual identities or to be more clear.
The liberal FDP party, which forms a provincial government with the CDU and the SPD, called for calm and emphasized that the CDU ministry only made it clear that the German spelling rules are valid in schools and that gendering is not included in the spelling books . At the same time, the FDP wants teachers to be able to decide for themselves how to teach grammar to children.
