On Saturday, Bence Halász, who also won a bronze medal in the Doha varsity and was second in the European Championships, jumped the qualifying level to the first place with 78.13 meters.
In the final of the hammer throw, Bence Halász took the lead after the first round, but in the fourth round he was overtaken by one centimeter by Wojciech Nowicki, but Ethan Katzberg threw further than everyone else in the fifth round, so the Hungarian athlete won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Budapest, behind the gold medalist from Canada and the silver medalist from Poland.
Paweł Fajdek, aiming for his sixth world championship title, was the first to enter the throwing circle and started with 80 meters. But Halász soon surpassed him: he opened the door to the field with 80.82, of which Ethan Katzberg (80.18) came closest.

Of the trio that started well, the Canadian did not improve in the second stage either, the Hungarian and the Polish athletes hit their attempts straight into the net, but the latter's compatriot, Wojciech Nowicki, came up behind Halász with his throw of 80.7 meters.
Defending champion Fajdek did not overtake after that, and the podium order did not change, although for a while it seemed that Halász would improve with his personal best, but in the end it was declared invalid by the judges - and his first throw was also cautioned.
In the chaos of the news, Fajdek and Katzberg fell short of the previous ones, but Nowicki took the lead by one centimeter with 80.82, while Halász indicated with 80.59 that he is holding the knife to the throat of the new front runner.

In the penultimate round, Katzberg beat his rivals with 81.25, so even though Nowicki surpassed his previous result and Halász reached over 80 meters, they both slipped one place back.
And this was the final result of the World Championship in Budapest.
