Gergely Karácsony, the mayor of Budapest, announced on his Facebook page that from today (May 23) metro line 3 will be running on its full line. He also announced that the first Budapest Metro Festival will take place on June 15 and 16.

According to Regional Development Minister Tibor Navracsics, the investment is important not only for Budapest and Hungary, but also for the European Union (EU). With the renovation, the cooperation between the government, the capital and the EU took tangible form, said the minister.

Mayor Gergely Karácsony greeted the government, the EU, and the residents of the capital who endured many years of inconvenience.

"And on June 15 and 16, we welcome everyone to the first Budapest Metro Festival, when culture, music and humor will move to the beautified stations of the 3 metro. Details coming soon! Gergely Karácsony wrote on his Facebook page.

"Budapest is organizing a special 2-day event called the Metro Festival on June 15 and 16 at the renovated metro stations. The Metro Festival welcomes everyone with concerts, exhibitions, stand-up comedy and a playground".

civilek.info: Unfortunately, the capital has no money, so it does not want to pay taxes. But it runs for the festival. How marvellous!
