In Hungary, we still have to face the difficulties not of unemployment, but rather of a labor shortage, and Gergely Karácsony's stakes belong to another chapter of the car chase, said the Government Information.

On August 20, the most spectacular light and fireworks show of all time was visible in Hungary, and more people than ever participated in the event. Public media coverage also set a record. All in all, it can be said that the events took place without interruption, which is a noteworthy result due to the large number of foreign delegations that arrived in the country, said Gergely Gulyás at Thursday's government briefing.

The government also evaluated the athletics WC: the number of tickets sold has now exceeded 350,000, and there are no more tickets for the last days.

The final numbers will be announced at the end of the event. According to the minister, more than 2,100 athletes entered the event. "Never before have so many athletes participated in the World Championships as there are now," he said. The head of the ministry congratulated Bence Halász on winning the medal.

- Based on the experience of the last two months, we can say: if no efforts are made for peace, then the war will drag on. Since the start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, the front line has not fundamentally changed, but hundreds and thousands die every day. The position of the Hungarian government remains unchanged. An immediate ceasefire and peace negotiations are necessary, said Gergely Gulyás regarding the war. He added that this is also in Europe's interest because it affects inflation on the continent. "As long as the war lasts, the government will use all means to fight inflation," he added.

Despite all the difficulties, the government continues to keep its promise that inflation will be in the single digits by the end of the year.

He emphasized: the government protected jobs even in a war situation.

In Hungary, we still have to face the difficulties not of unemployment, but rather of the labor shortage, he said. They want to ensure a wage increase that exceeds inflation, and there is a good chance for this this year as well. Gergely Gulyás also indicated that the government would extend the ban on Ukrainian grain imports even after September 16. He justified all of this by saying that if the current ban is lifted, the influx of grain will destroy the Hungarian market, a total of 3 tons per year, which is also of lower quality.

Government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi made an announcement about the online price monitor, saying that in the past month and a half, it generated significant price competition, as a result of which prices fell in 52 cases out of 62 product categories, which may have had an inflation-reducing effect of 1.8 percent. As he said, 722 stores were investigated, of which objections were found in 70 stores, and violations of law occurred in 102.

The most common complaint was that the price reduction was not indicated. The government offices imposed a total of HUF 25 million in fines. He also mentioned that 1.2 million people visited the price monitor's website when it started, so people are actively using the system. Most often, they searched for the words chicken breast, sugar, milk, eggs and oil. The system will soon be further developed, the 62 categories will be expanded in the direction that people demand.

Regarding the stakes placed by Gergely Karácsony, the minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office, he said to a journalist's question: he considers the measure to be another chapter of car chases.

He added: compared to before, this has become so much more serious that it is now making life difficult for those who save lives. According to him, the measure, as well as the declaration by the capital city management that the ambulance can fit in that area, is irresponsible.

Gulyás said he was not surprised when he heard the suggestion that the capital city government led by Gergely Karácsony received the most money from the Soros foundations among the organizations in Hungary. According to him, it is necessary to account for what these funds were spent on. As he said, the left has not done this before. He believes that all of this may pose a national security risk. According to him, the left must answer the question of where the money came from.

- Those who present themselves as apostles of transparency received billions of dollars in an election campaign without telling where they got it from. All we know is from abroad, said the head of the ministry.

Gergely Gulyás hopes that in the end everyone will find out who bought the Hungarian left.

In response to another question, the minister said: the athletics world championship is a very good advertisement for the country, and according to him, it also pays off in money. He also said that Budapest is one of the most prestigious events in the history of the World Athletics Championships.

The government is doing everything in order to increase real wages. As he said, they want to ensure a wage increase that exceeds inflation, and there is a good chance for this this year as well. In connection with the start of school, the minister said: although the number of children has decreased, the number of teachers is sufficient overall, in this sense there is no shortage of teachers.

On behalf of the government, Gergely Gulyás welcomed the visit of President Katalin Novák to Kyiv and Transcarpathia, and then expressed his hope that the disenfranchisement of Transcarpathian Hungarians will end.

Katalin Novák talked about important things face to face with the Ukrainian head of state

He reacted to the attack launched against August 20 by the left: it is a national holiday on which there was a public consensus until now. In this, his opinion is the same as that of current politician Anna Donáth.

These were never politicized events, there was a public consensus behind them, he said. According to the minister, the stability of the Sahel region would be in Europe's interest, because migration from the region could increase. Gulyás said: if we could not protect the Hungarian border, this year more than 150,000 would have come to Hungary, or through our country to Europe. He also said that many more people would come if we did not protect the border.

According to the head of the ministry, the filling level of Hungarian gas reservoirs is currently at 88 percent, which is sufficient for 214 winter days in terms of residential gas consumption.

We are doing well with the gas supply - stated the minister. According to Gulyás, more than 40 countries have indicated their intention to join BRICS. The citizens of the states present in the federation make up 40 percent of the world.

Hungary is also looking for cooperation with the BRICS countries, it is in our interest to increase mutual trade with these countries, he informed.

In relation to the Erasmus case, the government is still waiting for the position of the European Commission. He also noted that, for some reason, the Brussels committee likes students from the other 26 countries more than Hungarians. As he said, the committee promised an answer, but for now the representatives are still on vacation.

It also turned out: Viktor Orbán is going on vacation at the end of the month.

Responding to the dismissal of István Pállfy, the host of Hír TV, the head of the ministry said: no one can interfere in how a medium evaluates the activities of its own reporter. However, he stated that pedophilia cannot be supported in any form.
