The community of the Rákóczi Association can enjoy a very rich summer, which is thanks to the cooperation, work and trust of many well-meaning Hungarians.
After the start of school in September, the Rákóczi Association, together with its domestic and foreign supporters, thanks the families of about 9,000 school-going children at half a thousand foreign locations for their choice of school in Hungary.
The welcoming of the new students - at the National Opening Ceremony of Hungarian Schools in Slovakia - will begin on Saturday, September 2, at 10:30 a.m. in the Reformed Church of Szádalmás in the Highlands.
Choosing a Hungarian school abroad means choosing the Hungarian future, and every child who goes to a Hungarian school remains a guardian of the Hungarian language and culture.
Hungarian school choice is synonymous with the survival of Hungarian communities abroad and, not least, with the additional knowledge and better assertion of the individual.
About 3,600 scholarships and schoolbags are awarded in the Highlands, 1,300 in Vojvodina and Croatia, in Transylvania and Partium - Arad, Beszterce-Naszód, Bihar, Hunyad, Fehér, Máramaros, Szeben, Szilágy, Temes counties, as well as a scattering of Maros and Cluj counties - will be given to more than 2,400 school-starters and 200 children from Csangó in Moldova receiving Hungarian education.
Rákóczi Szövetég also pays special attention to school-going children in Transcarpathia.
