Four Hungarian medals were won at the world championship of front-loading long-range shooting, which was hosted by the military shooting range in Újmajor near Veszprém.

The special feature of the fight is that they used historical, front-loading rifles with black powder. The competitions took place in two categories: with original 19th-century weapons, and with their contemporary, accurate, modern-day copies.

The weapons could only be used with an open sight, scopes could not be mounted on the weapons according to the rules.

From the Hungarian team, Balázs Németh won a silver medal in the 1000 yards and a bronze in the 600 yards in the original category, Kornél Országh was second in the 500 yards in the replica category, and Tar Mihály finished third in the 300 yards in the original category.
