The KDNP faction leader spoke about the importance of preserving and nurturing the soul and faith at the handover of the renovated Greek Catholic church and parish in Timár in the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county on Sunday.

István Simicskó emphasized that people must have stronger faith every day, as many negative, harmful and dangerous processes are currently lurking, for example, on children, and everyone has to deal with increasingly difficult trials in everyday life.

"We have to stand our ground, overcome our problems, we have to be able to solve them, and if we work in community and with strong faith, we are much more capable of overcoming difficulties," said the representative of the smaller government party.

István Simicskó thanked all the pastors of the Greek Catholic Church, who "educate and teach with true faith and spirit" for their work.

They make us act, they make us think, they educate us, that is, the church also has a social mission - emphasized the politician, affirming that their work is necessary, therefore supporting the churches is an important task for the current government.

He emphasized that a partner and family are essential for a happy life, but it is equally important to love the homeland and the nation, and to strengthen the faith of the community.

In the virtual world, which carries many dangers, it is necessary to strengthen the Christian faith, because it is a very clear and unambiguous value filter - stated István Simicskó, adding that this also gives us the ability to be peaceful.

At the event, Vinnai Győző, the region's Fidesz parliamentary representative, spoke about the strong Greek Catholic community that professes its faith and goes to church in this village on the banks of the Tisza.

This holiday is a holiday not only for the Greek Catholics living here, but also for all the believers and settlements of the diocese, "for us Hungarians, it is a holiday that reaches the center of our hearts," said the representative.

The Greek Catholic church and parish in Timar were renovated with the help of a grant from the Hungarian village program for about HUF 40 million. The reconstruction of the exterior facade of the house of worship and the replacement of its doors and windows cost 15 million forints, and the renovation of the parish church cost 25 million forints.
