József Mónus, aka Fehér Farkas, multiple world record traditional long-range archer, took part in a world record shooting competition in the United States of America. He shot more than a kilometer, 1007.41 meters, with a hand bow in Utah and shot two more world records in Nevada. With this superhuman result, the archer is again at the top of the world rankings. Fehér Farkas thanked him for being born Hungarian and recommended success to his compatriots. He reported on the details of the fight on his social media page.

In 2019, József Mónus topped the rankings of the world's largest archery organization, World Archery and USA Archery, with a world record shot of 918 meters, and has not participated in this competition since then. In 2021, an English competitor overtook him with a shot of 960 meters. As he said before, he needed to shoot bigger than that to get back to the top of the leaderboard.

"I want to shoot at least a thousand meters, the Hungarian flag must fly victoriously here, in the United States of America as well. It only made sense for me to invest a lot of time, effort, money, and suffering for three years if I shot more than 960 meters. Now, for 2023, I am ready with the preparations so that I can stand with a calm heart against the results of the world's longest shot distance, the world's best archers, the world's best bow makers and the world's best arrow makers. I waited patiently to be prepared at the level required by the pride of the Hungarian flag. The battle must always be won, but this can only be done with faith and preparation"

said the archer before the competition. He started the competition with a shot of 915 meters with an injury. As he said, once he would have given his life for such a shot, but now it turned out to be not enough. In the second round of the competition, he shot 930.49 meters, which was the officially recorded longest shot of his life, but he has not yet reached 960 meters. As he said, for the third shot he had to take out the best arrow in the world, which is called Wolfheart. This arrow flew 963.38 meters, surpassing the old record by three meters 19 cm, the English world record archer's shot from England. As he wrote, it was very difficult to stay calm under such psychological pressure caused by the former English archer's 960-meter shot. The air temperature felt like 55 degrees in the still, windless desert. He thought two days would be enough to teach his arrows to this climate. He also had a lot of dilemmas about the material of the pen.

Finally, he managed to correctly choose the launch angle and connect it with the movement characteristics of the arrow. For 12 hours, he only feathered so that Wolfheart and his companions could be born with the best choice of feathers in the world.

His world record shot of 963, 38 meters took place in Smith Creek, Nevada. He then went on to compete in another desert in Utah, where he set another world record overshot goal with a 50-pound historic bow. Yesterday, he stood at the starting line and succeeded in his superhuman undertaking: he shot his bow at a distance of 1007.41 meters.
