The Hungarian team not only became the European champion in the IT system operator competition, but also won the title of Best in Europe in the competition, because they scored the highest, 799 points out of a possible 800.

We are proud of the performance of the Hungarian young professionals who participated in the EuroSkills European Championship of Professions, the Hungarian team achieved the most successful result of all time - stressed Balázs Hankó, State Secretary for Innovation and Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM) on Monday at Ferenc Liszt International Airport welcoming the Hungarian team.

He said that overall, among the 32 countries, the Hungarian team finished in second place after Switzerland, ahead of the Austrian and French teams.

He pointed out that not only did the Hungarian team become European champions in the IT system operator competition, but

also won the title of Best of Europe in the competition because they scored the highest 799 points out of a possible 800.

The Secretary of State explained that

the Hungarian team won 5 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze medals and 7 excellence medals at the EuroSkills competition held in Gdansk, i.e. they won medals in 17 out of 22 professions.

According to Balázs Hankó, the next task is to bring the World Skills Championship, the WorldSkills competition, to Hungary.

"We want young people to choose the profession, encouraged by this success, because

we are good at IT, mechatronics, robotics, beauty care, patient care, room painting and dry construction at the same time"

- He told.

The State Secretary stated that it is good to study a profession in Hungary, and the vocational training is good thanks to the relationship with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK). The Hungarian economy needs good professionals, and young people who excel in the professions' competition are a good inspiration, said Balázs Hankó.

Hungary September 5-9, 2023 participated for the eighth time in the European Championship of Professions, the EuroSkills Gdansk 2023 competition, where around 600 young professionals from 32 countries compared their skills in 42 official competitions and 1 demonstration profession. Hungary was represented by 26 competitors in 22 events.

MKIK announced:

Tamás Bandúr and Zsolt Koncsik became European champions in the IT system operator competition, in the team competition , who - with the highest score achieved by the Hungarian competitors - also won the title of the Best in the Nation. In terms of the results of all competitions, with the highest score, they became the best in Europe with the Best in Europe award.

János Hidvégi , carpenter Dániel Nagy painter and decorator Bálint Czimmer plumber Márton Offner also became European champions

Bálint Farkas and Erik Kovács won silver medals in the industrial robotics competition, in the team competition

Márton Kovács and Krisztofer Ferenczi won bronze medals in the team competition in mechatronics, Attila Stób in dry construction, Lili Darabos beautician and Blanka Pál in grooming and care.
