The Minister of Agriculture said in his Facebook message that it is unacceptable that the products of the giant farms created by multinational, international capital investments come from Ukraine to the European Union market in such a way as to completely upset its normal operation.
He recalled that an important deadline is approaching, the moratorium on Ukrainian agricultural products, the import ban, will expire on September 15. He set off for three neighboring countries precisely to agree on the position on what will happen from September 16.
"Brussels is silent, and we have to act in a national capacity. We cannot remain silent and become incapacitated in front of the farmers. Farmers expect us to protect them, to be decisive, to take measures that ensure their production security. That's what we worked on today too!"
He emphasized that they had agreed with their Romanian, Bulgarian and Slovak colleagues that if there is no decision in Brussels to extend the moratorium, they will act individually within their national competence. They would like to coordinate this process, and he indicated that the import ban will not cover four products, they will come up with an expanded list of products, as it is important to eliminate internal market disturbances.
It cannot be accepted that the products of the giant economies created by multinational, international capital investments come from Ukraine to the European Union market in such a way as to completely upset its normal operation.
"There, the products are produced in a completely different production structure, according to completely different regulations, without observing any rules, and then they are put on the markets of the European Union duty-free, without any restrictions, and they put European farmers and European producers in an impossible situation."
"We see that multinational capital and these investments occupy the European Union market, they don't want to go anywhere else, they want to establish themselves here. We can't let this happen, since we produce according to rules, under controlled conditions from the producer to the table, so the producers also rightly expect us to provide them with security and a suitable vision for the future."
