The migrant issue, the rise in prices, the energy crisis and the war are the main concerns of people in Slovakia, where early elections will be held at the end of the month, and the Association of Hungarians offers answers that are sympathetic to many.

We are on the side of peace, we don't want to continue fueling the war with weapons - emphasized György Gyimesi, the representative candidate of the Hungarian party of the Uplands, the Alliance on Monday on the M1 current channel.

The politician said in connection with the early Slovak elections due on September 30 that people are now mostly concerned with what will happen to migrants, rising prices, the energy crisis and the war. He indicated: the solutions offered by the Association to these questions won people's approval.

György Gyimesi said that he has attended 73 campaign events and traveled tens of thousands of kilometers, and according to his experience, voters are much more positive now than they were at the beginning of the campaign period. "I believe in success and I always tell people it's now or never," he declared.

"There is content behind this slogan: if there is no Hungarian party, there will be no representation of the Hungarian people", he continued, adding: it is very clear and simple, but "many people still cannot understand what is at stake".

The representative candidate explained that during the campaign he actually gives "motivational speeches" with which he tries to make voters understand that by voting for the Alliance, people are not voting for politicians, but "for themselves".

"Their voice, their interests will be represented in the parliament. We are just a means to ensure that their values, our culture and traditions remain after October 1, 2023. That's the stake," he explained.

György Gyimesi also spoke about the fact that Slovakia is at a crossroads: it either starts on the side of submission or sovereignty. He added that Hungarians do not like to be "directed", they like to make their own decisions on issues that affect them, and when it was the worst, they were always able to resist.

"I feel that the Hungarians will resist even on September 30 and will send the Alliance to the parliament, which will be the language of the balance in the formation of the government," underlined the politician.
