We are once again at the forefront of the world with our confectionary art: the list of the most recent confectioneries and their iconic desserts by the gastro portal TasteAtlas includes two confectioneries from Budapest.
Our favorite benchmark international gastro portal, the English TasteAtlas, has once again presented a TOP 150 list, in which it ranks the world's best pastry shops and their iconic desserts. The site, which describes itself as a "world atlas of traditional food, local ingredients and authentic restaurants", recently compiled a list of the world's 100 best cakes , which also included 5 well-known and well-loved Hungarian sweets - but now, instead of the cakes, it focused mainly on the places that make them.
"All of the pastry shops on the list have chosen timeless quality over fleeting fashion"
- they write in their introduction. Well, we were honored that two pastry shops from Budapest were included in the first third of the prestigious list - let's see which they are!

The iconic Hungarian dessert was named after master confectioner József C. Dobos and consists of thin sponge layers, chocolate buttercream, topped with a crunchy caramel glaze.
