The Jászberényi Kossuth Folk Song Association received the Jászság Civil Wandering Award for its successful community activities and for its service to the preservation of the Jászság song culture, announced the Jászók Association.
According to the information, the Jászság Civil Wandering Award and the 200,000 forints associated with it were awarded for the thirteenth time by the Board of Trustees of the "A Jászságért" Foundation.
The legal predecessor of the song circle, the Portelki Pávakör, was founded in 1971 under the leadership of Zsolt Szentirmay, a music teacher from Jászberény. Professional management has been carried out by István Kecskés since 2012, the current number of members is twenty-two. The choir has been a member of the Jászok Association since 2014, they wrote.
Every year, they promote the folk songs of Jászság at numerous performances, are present at regional and county folk music events, and have also performed in Poland and Serbia. They are regular participants in church folk singing meetings

They won the Golden Peacock award seven times at KÓTA's national qualifying competitions.
The wanderer award will be presented in Jászberény in the near future, the announcement states.
