In his press conference on Wednesday, the head of the European Parliament delegation of Fidesz assessed the Budapest Forum 2023 conference, organized by Political Capital, the CEU Democracy Institute and the Metropolitan Municipality, as a hate workshop for the dollar left, the Soros network and the European left-wing liberal elite.

Tamás Deutsch told journalists: the two-day conference that started on Wednesday is actually a meeting of "political sponsors and the politically sponsored", where they express "all kinds of rude things in the voice of hatred" about the sovereignist Hungarians and Poles, who in recent years have "rolled" into Hungary the least three billion HUF dollars in order to achieve a favorable political change for them.

He put it this way: "the sponsors will line up in full at the hate workshop", that is, those whose organizations and campaigns received this source. He included the "dollar-left politicians", such as Katalin Cseh and Gergely Karácsony, and the "dollar-left media" as well.

Tamás Deutsch - who held the press conference in front of the CEU building on Nádor Street, where the conference took place - believed that the location of the meeting was also symbolic, because the Hungarian and European left have been hearing for years that the CEU was "driven out" from Budapest.

He also drew attention to the fact that, in addition to the "Soros University", the organizer of the conference is also the Capital City Municipality, which, although according to its own statement, is struggling with extremely serious financial problems, interestingly enough, it has the money to do so.

The head of the Fidesz European Parliament delegation called it a "scandal" that when the government "elected on the basis of the confidence of the overwhelming majority of Hungarian citizens" initiates negotiations with the European Commission, in the vast majority of cases the members of the commission say no, but when the "dollar-left network" the "Soros network" organizes a "hate workshop", then they can participate in the conference in person or online.

He emphasized: Among the sponsors of the dollar left in Hungary are the European Union institutions, including the European Commission, from which campaign funds in the order of billions will continue to arrive in Hungary in the next period.

According to him, this conference also makes it clear that in the coming weeks and months, the most decisive action must be taken against foreign campaign funds being channeled to Hungarian political actors, thus buying political influence.

Political Capital, the CEU Democracy Institute and the Metropolitan Municipality organize the Budapest Forum for the third time this year.
