The Hungarian national football team came back from a two-goal deficit and played a 2-2 draw at home in Lithuania, in the European Championship qualifier.
"What you have to understand is that if you don't have the right attitude, it can turn into a nightmare, unfortunately that's what happened in the first half. We didn't win the duels, we allowed free spaces. We tried to play football in style, but it was not appropriate on this pitch. Then in the second half we were already in the lead, we scored two goals" -
was Marco Rossi's assessment after the match against the Lithuanians
The national team captain summed it up simply: we didn't have the luck we had against the Serbs.
"I take full responsibility for my choices. We are a young team capable of development, if you are on the right path, you can't even think that the road always goes up. Now we will focus on the match against Bulgaria, where we have to get at least one point"
the Master looked ahead.
Rossi revealed, drawing attention at half-time that they need to score more second balls and go into collisions without fear. He also made tactical changes to find open areas behind the Lithuanians.
"I should be satisfied. I know how difficult and tough an opponent we played, and how much this match meant to them. We expected them to pull themselves together in the second half. My team performed well, we scored a point against a strong opponent"
– so Edgar Jankauskas about the match.
The Lithuanian captain thought that maybe the Hungarian national team didn't expect such a strong opponent, which is why they started the match like that. Jankauskas revealed that they paid special attention to Dominik Szoboszlai, and they also performed well against him.
