The flagpoles of Székelykő were once again given the colors of the Hungarian flag. The two topographic markings of the Székelykő peak, which can be reached from Torockó, are the subject of debate between Romanian and Hungarian tourists. The two signposts are sometimes painted in the colors of the Hungarian and Romanian national flags by tourists climbing the mountain peak, reports apuseni.info.ro. The painting and repainting have been going on for a long time, reports the Maszol.ro portal.

In the Transylvanian Mountains, on the Székelykő mountain peak, accessible from Torockó in Fehér County, the soap opera of painting and repainting the Hungarian and Romanian flags will continue this year, after that signal pole was repainted in the colors of the Romanian flag in 2022. During the visit of Hungarian President Katalin Novák, the piles were painted red, white and green, reports apuseni.info.ro .

Recently, the colors of the Romanian tricolor were removed again, i.e. they were painted over the colors of the Hungarian flag. The pictures show that blue has been replaced by green and yellow by white.

The Székelykő is 1128 meters high and is one of the main tourist attractions of the region. Tens of thousands of tourists, most of them Hungarian, visit Torockó and Torockószentgyörgy every year.

More than 90 percent of Torockó is inhabited by Hungarians.
