In addition to freedom, October 23, 1956 also reminds us of national unity, said the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of European Union Affairs on Sunday in Budapest.

Pál Barna Pál Zsigmond pointed out at the meeting of the Hungarian Youth Association without Limits held in the Parliament: the event is now a forum gathering the most important young Hungarian politicians in the Carpathian Basin, and the association is the most important umbrella organization for organizations dealing with Carpathian Basin politics.

Pál Zsigmond Barna pointed out: the current event is a good opportunity to remember the heroes of 1956 together.

October 23, 1956 was the day of the Hungarian revolution, not only in the mother country, but throughout the Carpathian Basin - he recalled, adding: battles were not only taking place in Budapest, but also throughout the Carpathian Basin, many Hungarians stood up for freedom and many paid with their lives across the border too. The spirit of 1956 unites Hungarians and "just as our grandfathers and fathers didn't dance the way they whistled in Moscow, the current youth don't want to dance the way they whistle in Brussels or other cities," he said.

The State Secretary pointed out: different means are needed to fight, and the young people across the border are in a different situation, but the most important thing is that everyone participates in the decisive European Union elections in the coming period and makes their voice heard so that national unity is preserved.

Balázs Molnár, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of European Union Affairs, spoke about the fact that since 2010 the Hungarian government has been thinking in terms of World Hungary and that this is a very important aspect in preparing for the EU presidency. They want to address not only the Hungarians in the motherland, but also the Hungarians living in the Carpathian Basin and in the diaspora, they also want to talk to them, he emphasized. A significant clash of sovereignist and federalist forces is taking place at the entire level of the European Union, and very serious forces are speaking out in favor of a federalist Europe. It is in the interest of Hungary and the entire Central Eastern European region that strong nation-states form the European Union, and the Hungarian government will do everything in its power to achieve this, he said.

Ministerial Commissioner Lőrinc Nacsa, president of the Youth Christian Democratic Association, spoke about the fact that we live in a world where wars and attacks continue, and ideological colonization takes place. Our generation wants peace, he said.

The KDNP politician thanked the nearly 300 young people participating in the event to the heroes of 1956, as he said, this generation is grateful to the young people of 56, Péter Mansfeld, Ilonka Szabó and the others, who considered it important and were brave enough to " stand up in defense of Hungarian freedom, Hungarian peace and Hungarian sovereignty".

The situation is not simpler today, although there are no violent incidents on the streets of Budapest, but the situation is changing all over Western Europe. Wars are breaking out on the borders of Europe, and in the meantime liberal pressure from North America and Western Europe wants to bring the young people of Central Europe under its influence.

Our task is to stand on the ground of patriotism and unite those young people who are ready to do something for their country and local communities, he underlined.

He noted that there will be two elections in Hungary and four in Romania next year. Their voices must be heard, it must be shown, especially in the EP elections, that it is time to return to the path of normality, he said.

Dániel Farkas, president of Fidelitas, pointed out that dozens of events organized by the association strengthened the patriotism of young people living in the Carpathian Basin. The participants in the conference are committed to the future of Hungarians and the Carpathian Basin, which has perhaps never been as important as it is today.

Barna Bagi, president of the Hungarian Youth Association without Limits, highlighted that they represent young politicians committed to the national side. 270 people will be present at the current event - he indicated, adding: their goal is to call young people, to have as many of them participate in the elections and to have a say in public life as much as possible.
