According to the world-class swimmer, the sports management can be grateful for Milák's achievements so far.
Katinka Hosszú shared a strong opinion on her Instagram page regarding the fact that, according to Sándor Wladár, the president of the Hungarian Swimming Association, Kristóf Milák "belongs to Hungary".
Magyar Nemzet pointed out that Hosszú wrote:
"I think Kristóf does not belong to Hungary, and the sports management can be grateful for his achievements so far!"
He added:
"It is outrageous and primitive to say that an Olympic champion owes his country..."
The background of the case is that with the approach of the Paris Olympics, the tension in the Hungarian Swimming Association regarding Kristóf Milák is apparently increasing. The swimmer's coach recently talked about the fact that the world and European champion swimmer is in the "twenty-fourth hour". Said,
his student hasn't done the kind of training work that would be necessary for elite sports for practically half a year,
but they would still give him every help to continue.
Sándor Wladár, the president of the Hungarian Swimming Association, said that
"the swimmer belongs to Hungary, and he must also honor himself by seriously training and doing the work that will allow him to defend his Olympic title in Paris next year."
"The fact that we don't know where he is eight months before the Olympics fills me with deep sadness," said Sándor Wladár.
