TV Maci, the legendary tooth-brushing brown bear of Esti mese received an entry card Dániel Papp hung the card around the neck of TV Maci on the occasion of the figure's 60th "birthday" at the public media headquarters on Tuesday.

In the "teddy room" in the MTVA visitors' center, those who are interested can meet the favorite fairy-tale character who first appeared on April 15, 1963, in the movie "Esti mese".

According to the original idea, a "sympathetic but strict" doctor would have drawn attention to the importance of going to bed early, brushing teeth, a healthy diet, proper clothing and civilized forms of hygiene. In the end, however, the József Attila award-winning writer, editor-playwright Ágnes Bálint decided on the teddy bear, because he thought that most children fall asleep with a teddy bear, so it will feel close to him.

The "official birthday" of TV Maci is October 23, as Ágnes Bálint, who created the genre of television fairy tales, and the original screenwriter of the Esti mese signal film, was born on this day.

Dániel Papp said at the ceremony: TV Maci already has an astronaut card, an identity card, and a stamp has been made for it, but he doesn't have an entry card yet. The figure connects parents with children, and it is even important for the Hungarians of the Carpathian Basin, as many Hungarians grew up on TV Mac, he added.

"We bow our heads to the work of Ágnes Bálint, and I hope that the public media manages to keep the legend of TV Maci alive. There were a few attempts to dispel this myth, but they failed; TV Maci won and I think that in this form we can even vote him eternal life"

said the CEO.
