It's worth speaking honestly instead of our rusty and dull platitudes: why is it okay that we don't belong and never will belong to the West - said Péter Ungár.
In a video published on Saturday, the chairman of the LMP – Hungary Green Party expressed his opinion on the relationship between Hungary and the Western world, as well as the geopolitical situation and future of the region.
According to Péter Ungár, it is time to do away with such empty and meaningless phrases as the "United States of Europe" or the fact that Hungary's mandated geopolitical role is the status of a "compromise country". Ungár goes even further than this, as he also called the position of legally belonging to the West false, mainly due to geographical reasons.

said Péter Ungár.
He added that it is basically okay that the world's biggest superpower is the United States, as it has many advantages and achievements that Hungarians can also enjoy. At the same time, he called Western "self-colonization" unnecessary and harmful. Finally he added:
There are good things and bad things in the West (…) you don't have to love or hate them, but you have to love Hungary, because only we will."
