Bálint Czimmer from Kölked won a gold medal at the European Championship of Room Painters. The twenty-year-old skilled worker grew up in a family where the men get by with a thousand types of manual labor. Bálint could earn a lot of money abroad with his quality expertise, but for the time being he wants to teach beginner room painters at home, writes Szabad Pécs.

At the continental competition held in Poland, Bálint beat 14 of his competitors. He won in a relatively superior manner, scoring 79 out of 100 points, while the runner-up "finishing" scored 74.

This is also a big word, because in such a competition, wallpapering with millimeter tolerances or painting colorful polygons on a white wall without a ruler is impossible. And, of course, you have to be very good at smoothing, because the main secret of attractive painting is a mirror-smooth wall surface.

Competitors are also expected to accurately mix 3-4 specified shades of a color with an eye gauge, or to enlarge a ready-made pattern printed on paper and apply it to the wall. And one of the basic requirements for door painting is that the competitor is able to flawlessly paint around a decorative strip, which he does not "mask" with adhesive tape beforehand, according to the newspaper's article.

When asked why he wanted to be a house painter, the 20-year-old man replied to the paper that

there is an abandoned apartment with dirty walls, a painter goes there, works for a few days, and the apartment will be completely different, renewed, it will be nice to go in there, look around, furnish it, live there. A painter can do wonders for an apartment or a house.

By the way, there were no painters among Bálint's ancestors and relatives, but he belonged to a real industrial family. His grandfather is a bricklayer, his father, Zoltán Czimmer, is a carpenter, there is a machinist in the family, so the family can build a house without having to call in a single specialist, the report reads.

Regarding the future, Bálint stated that he does not plan to move abroad, he wants to start a painting business here, but for now he is waiting, as he was offered a job as a teacher at his school, the Pollack Mihály Technikum in Pécs.
