As of November 1, the counties of Zala, Somogy and Bács-Kiskun will also join the new primary care on-call system, announced the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ).
The central telephone number for the emergency services for both adults and children is 1830. The telephone number can be called during the entire on-call period, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends and holidays.
With the call, the patient receives professional advice, if necessary, an emergency car will be sent to the place of residence, or an ambulance will be sent immediately in the event of a life-threatening situation, no matter where the person in need of care resides.
They added: in accordance with the law on basic health care adopted by the Parliament in December, the introduction of the new, unified on-call system is taking place gradually and according to plan.
From the first of February, the new alert was activated first in the county of Hajdú-Bihar, then in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Győr-Moson-Sopron and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Komárom-Esztergom, Békés, Baranya, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Veszprém, Heves, Tolna , Csongrád-Csanád county joined.

The new on-call schedule will gradually come into effect in the other counties of the country, and the population and general practitioners will be continuously informed about it.
Until the change, the medical service in the other counties will operate as usual. By the beginning of next year, with the exception of Budapest for the time being, a unified on-call system providing better care for patients than before and connected to the elements of the emergency care system will be operating in Hungary, reads the announcement of the ambulance service.
