One of the world's most luxurious and patinated railways is coming to Budapest again during the Christmas season.

The Orient Express is also called the train of kings and the king of trains. The luxury train, which is celebrating its 140th birthday this year, is visiting Budapest again and during the Advent season it can be used for the 250-kilometer section between Budapest and Vienna.

Founded in 2014, Continental Railway Solution (CRS), Hungary's first and so far the only fully privately owned railway company with a passenger transport license, recently announced that it will also operate its luxury flights between Budapest and Vienna during the Advent period.

According to the information, the Continental Classic Express train will have four classes of cars, in which a total of three hundred people can travel in the greatest splendor.

The flight will run on Saturdays in December on the route Déli pályaudvar-Kelenföld-Győr-Wien Hauptbahnhof-Wien Westbahnhof.

A total of 1,200 passengers are expected on the Advent special flights. The biggest special feature of the flight is that it will be possible to use the Salon car, which was previously responsible for the trips of the Austrian Chancellor.

The Orient Express includes a total of ten routes this Christmas, whose flights include Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, Florence and Prague.

As a rule, the train departs in the evening, boarding takes place before dinner, and then a four-course menu awaits the passengers, who can spend the night in different suites. In the double cabins with a historical atmosphere, special features such as marble bathtubs await passengers.

Although most people travel to the Austrian capital by car, the Budapest-Vienna railway line is also extremely popular, but traveling with the Orient Express to the largest city of our western neighbor offers a completely new and unique experience.

The ticket prices are quite steep, and as mentioned above, there are four classes in total: Pullman Tourist, Pullman, Pullman First and the eight-person Presidential suite. The ticket price for the former ranges between 25 and 50 thousand forints, while the rental of the presidential suite costs less than ten thousand forints and one million forints.

Interesting fact: the flight between Budapest and Vienna operated by Austrian Airlines (which lasts only 45 minutes) costs HUF 86,000.

Those interested visit the Austrian capital before the Christmas holidays for a number of reasons. On the one hand, there is the area around Graben and Kärntner Straße, where you can go shopping along the beautiful pedestrian streets, and on the other hand, the Austrians are already preparing for the Advent fairs in full swing. The Christmas trees are already out in front of the Austrian town hall and the Schönbrunn castle, and the stands are constantly being built, waiting for the moment of opening.
