On Monday, Minister János Csák, as the exerciser of the employer's authority, handed over the document terminating the employment of László L. Simon, the director general of the Hungarian National Museum, the Ministry of Culture and Innovation issued a statement. In his justification, the minister explained that the director-general, since he had failed to follow the law expected of the institution, did not fulfill it in substance even when called upon,
he exhibited behavior that made it impossible to maintain his employment.
The topic was also raised in the parliament, where János Csák also spoke on the issue. The Minister of Culture and Innovation stated that he was only following the law with his decision. János Csák said that László Simon László was "unfit to be a leader"
because "he who cannot obey the laws is unfit."
"Every state leader has the duty to implement the laws," said Csák.

"Minister János Csák informed me this morning that he resigned from his position as director general of the Hungarian National Museum because, in his opinion, I sabotaged the child protection law.
I acknowledge the decision, but I cannot accept it"
- writes the cultural politician in his post.
He emphasizes: "By presenting the images from the World Press Photo exhibition, the museum did not intentionally violate any legislation. The ministry itself acknowledged this in its previous letter: "In my opinion, there are no circumstances indicating a deliberate violation of the law on the part of the Hungarian National Museum (…)""
Simon points out: contrary to what was stated in the ministerial announcement, the operator's instructions were followed without delay and in full, the under-18 restriction was introduced and the operator was immediately notified of this.
"As a father of four children and a grandparent, I firmly reject the idea that our children should be protected from me or from the institution I lead"
