Viktor Orbán gave a speech at Friday's meeting of the Hungarian Standing Conference on Hungarians beyond the border in the Várkert Bazaar.

According to Viktor Orbán, the world is becoming more and more dangerous, and this trend has continued in the recent period, and two serious hotbeds have emerged. The prime minister also cited the UN report, according to which a quarter of the world's population lives in an area affected by an armed conflict.

"Ukraine is following a path that leads to nowhere"

Speaking about the situation of Hungarians across the border, as well as referring to the Slovak election, he stated that "as long as there is an ethnic basis, then the politicization based on it makes sense." He believed that the Transcarpathian Hungarians are in the worst situation, because at the moment Hungary cannot offer anything to Ukraine, since the political leadership there "follows a path that leads to nowhere" and which Budapest cannot support. According to his words, Hungary will provide all assistance to the Transcarpathian Hungarians.

It is not an exaggeration when I say that the Hungarians in the Soviet Union were in a better position than during the statehood of Ukraine

he added.

"The EU is not a factor in world politics"

According to him, the European Union is not considered a significant factor in world politics, because it is expected that China and the United States will form the new political framework. According to him, this is causing a crisis in Europe, because "until now we thought that we were the most beautiful, the smartest and the richest, but only the first of these is true". He believed that there are two schools of thought in Europe, one of which says that we should return to the previous respectability, while the other says that we should shut up and preserve the existing conditions.

The prime minister believes that the composition of the world's 10 richest countries will change by 2030. So far, there have been 6 Western countries, but Britain and France will be eliminated, and there will be only one European, Germany, also in 10th place. According to him, Hungary's sovereignty is threatened by the union's federal aspirations, and Great Britain helped Budapest and the other Central and Eastern European countries in this.

Brexit did not help Hungary

he noted.

Viktor Orbán said that it is taboo for Hungary to abolish the European Union's unanimous decision-making mechanism, i.e. the possibility of a veto. And the Hungarian government will not contribute to this even if they expand the community from the current 26 to 36. According to the Prime Minister, there is currently no restructuring proposal on the agenda that he could support, according to him, decisions should not be made on the restructuring of institutions, but on trade issues.

According to Viktor Orbán, a stricter "migrant policy" is needed

He also spoke about the issue of immigration. According to Orbán, in Europe, immigrants are seen as a guarantee of economic development, but we do not let in "talking robots" with them, but - as he said before - together with the workforce, their culture, civilization and thinking. He considers the Muslim world to be stronger than the Christian world, and he also believes that integration is not helped by a secularized state either.

Westerners hope that they will secularize the immigrants as they have secularized us, but the chances of this are actually slim. Building an immigration policy on this is a temptation

added the prime minister.

Viktor Orbán indicated that a stricter policy regarding illegal immigration would be needed. The government does not support the draft of the union, because of which it believes that there will be a bigger conflict in the next six months.

Could the EU end?

In conclusion, he said that the world that surrounds us is in a state of disintegration. In the case of the European Union, the process will not have an epic part, a spectacular explosion or termination, but signs of disintegration are appearing more and more often.

Speaking about the year 2023, he said that the already established institutions were kept, but there was no possibility of expansion. In the coming years, he believes that the field will once again be one of strengthening, and according to his claim, it will also have the financial support.

Katalin Novák also spoke

The President of the Republic Katalin Novák also gave a speech at Friday's session of the Hungarian Standing Conference, from which she shared a short excerpt on her Facebook page. According to him, the shrinking of the Hungarian population must be ordered to stop and become a growing one.

We must take the shaping of the future into our own hands, because we write the future, not the forecasts. The Carpathian basin can be the cradle that rocks children

- opined Novák, who was happy to experience the self-evident togetherness of Hungarians.
