The Internet is flooded with videos of guest workers from the Philippines made in our country. The recordings reveal exactly what Asian workers do, how much they earn and how they spend their free time. Among other things, it is striking how young they are and how well they feel with us.

Filipino guest workers working in our country are uploading more and more videos to the Internet. Among the popular social media sites, recordings that show their weekday and weekend leisure activities are mainly found on TikTok. They have in common that most of them are factory workers, young people, between 20 and 30 years old, and according to the lessons of the recordings, they feel great in our country.

Five years as a factory worker in the Philippines, three years in Japan and now again as a factory worker in Hungary

- wrote a visibly young lady in her late twenties who, based on her videos, likes to visit Budapest's main attractions in her spare time. According to the recordings, he has been living in Hungary since last spring, leaving his family behind and coming to Hungary to work at Knorr-Bremse.

Several people also shared how much they earn. Here you can see a very large deviation, for example, one worker writes that at Flextronics (presumably in the Zalaegerszeg factory) his monthly net salary was 220,000 forints (he uploaded the video last November), according to another worker, at Samsung it was even higher, 300 and 350,000 salaries.

Several people post that their monthly salary is 40,000 pesos, which corresponds to 251,000 forints at an exchange rate of 6.29 forints.

The hand looks like this

• They allocate 60,000 for their family,

• 60,000 are spent on subsistence,

• the other half of the amount, i.e. about HUF 125,000, is set aside.

Of course, the overall picture includes the fact that the companies bear the costs of the guest workers' stay here, so they do not have to spend on accommodation, meals, or travel, since they are also reimbursed for the costs of going to work. All of this is supported by the recordings, in which they highlight the free Wi-Fi, the intermediary fee, and the Schengen visa, which provides them with additional opportunities.

The videos also reveal that several people were able to see snow for the first time in their lives.

The Philippines, with a population of 100 million, is a country with a tropical climate, where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees even in winter.
