A journalist from a well-known British newspaper visited the Hungarian border fence and experienced shocking things.

The The Critic magazine writes that on the other side of the border, a real gang war has developed between Afghan, Moroccan and Syrian groups over the flourishing human smuggling business.

Ben Sixsmith, The Critic prepared a detailed report on Hungarian border protection . The journalist also visited the border fence, spoke with the police officers there, who said that human traffickers are ready to use violence. Sometimes that means pieces of wood and a shower of rocks, and sometimes they have firearms to shoot in the air when the police show up. The article goes so far in detail that it notes that in one of the observation rooms of the Mórahalm center, a song by the American singer Miley Cyrus was playing on the radio.

Perhaps more importantly, Sixsmith also shows that on the other side of the border, a veritable gang war has broken out between Afghan, Moroccan and Syrian groups over the booming people-smuggling business.

The drivers who transport the migrants are mostly Ukrainians or Moroccans, but at the same time, the author of the article also mentions that, according to the report of the Hungarian secret services, the gangs are already controlled by the Taliban. He also adds that bands are extremely active in promoting themselves, and in this they also use social media.

According to Sixsmith

the idea that the state has the right to define its borders is one of the basic foundations of the state.

And the fact that states can waive this right in some cases, such as in the case of the Schengen Convention, does not mean that they have also waived this right in all other cases.

The final conclusion of the author of this article is that there may be differences of opinion on which country, according to what level and source of immigration, is necessary, but at the same time, each nation should respect the right to make its own decisions on this issue.

Hungary and other countries that lie on the external border of the union do the "dirty work" that allows Western European countries to "define" their borders, Sixmith said. Adding that some may be put off by the sight of the wire fence erected on the southern border, but only because they are not supposed to guard it.
