Norbert Michelisz, the Hungarian driver of Hyundai, won the championship title of the first-ever World Touring Car Series after winning the first race at the final round of the season in Macau and finishing eighth in the second.

The driver who won the World Cup in 2019 took the first starting spot during the qualifying session at the season-ending event of the series consisting of nine stops and 20 races, which he turned into a victory in the first race on Saturday, so he looked forward to the second race on Sunday from a favorable position.

An eighth place in the season-ending race was enough for Michelisz to collect enough points to win the championship.

According to the official website of the world series, Michelisz became the champion with 440 points, the Frenchman Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk&Co) finished second with 430 points, and the British Rob Huff (Audi) finished third with 414 points.
