The European left-liberal side managed to push through the European Parliament the report that proposes to amend the basic treaties, which would destroy the culture of consensus that is the soul of Europe, or the institution of unanimous decision-making in the Council.
By erasing the culture of consensus, the European Union would shift towards a federalist empire, a superstate led by Brussels bureaucrats, Judit Varga wrote in her Facebook post.
The Fidesz president of the Parliament's European Affairs Committee also explained in his post what this would mean for Hungary and Central Europe:
"They would try to force everything down the throats of the member states from the center in Brussels, they would drag us into war, they would cancel the utility reduction, they would deprive us of our right to compose our energy mix, they would force mandatory migrant quotas and gender ideology on us," emphasized Judit Varga.
The former Minister of Justice emphasized: Hungary considers unanimous decision-making to be the last guarantee of the protection of national interests in the European Union, "therefore changing this is taboo for us".
“We will oppose imperial aspirations on all platforms. However, the Verhofstadts' proposal confirms us in one thing: change is needed in Brussels❗!" Judit Varga closed her post.
