The producers would like to target last year's price level in the sale of pine wood, because there is also the danger that in the event of a strong price increase, artificial pine will become stronger and stronger competition.

Neither horticultural stores nor ornamental nurseries plan to raise prices as the soon-to-start pine tree buying season approaches.

As is well known: a significant number of nurseries also deal with the cultivation and sale of cut and ball pine, and the time for their sales is slowly coming. Despite the current economic difficulties - primarily inflation - the sector achieved good results.

According to Gergely Rónai, president of the Association of Hungarian Ornamental Nurseries, the declining inflation is slowly making its impact felt, which is also true for the sale of cut pine.

"The price increase was a big burden for both buyers and producers. The industry agreed that we should not pass on everything we can to the customers. Our conscious pricing policy is characterized by the fact that they don't want to raise prices if possible," said Rónai.

The producers would like to target last year's price level in the sale of pine wood, because there is also the danger that in the event of a strong price increase, artificial pine will become stronger and stronger competition.

"It is not in anyone's interest that we abandon this beautiful habit of bringing live pine into our homes due to an economic necessity. If the population replaces this with artificial pine, the entire sector will feel it," concluded Gergely Rónai.
