The pair of Alex Deli and Luca Bihari won a gold medal in acrobatic rock and roll at the World Championships in Geneva.
The Hungarian duo won in the main class free style, the highest category of the sport, which is the highest recorded result of the adult pair in the acrobatic rock and roll discipline of the Hungarian Dance and Sports Association, the association informed MTI on Wednesday.
Benedek Polyánki and Kata Flórián reached the finals in the main class contact style field, they ended up fourth. In the main class free style, Balázs Balla and Lilla Lantos won the fifth place in the world championship based on their acrobatics and foot technique choreography.
"The acrobatic discipline was included in the umbrella organization of the Hungarian Dance Sports Association in 2000. Since then, we have not had such success, and there was no precedent for it before. Alex Deli and Luca Bihari achieved success with a world-class performance. By the way, in the discipline, mainly in formation, there were constantly World Cup and European medals, but in pairs, in main class free style, Alex and Luca wrote sports history. All you need to know is that the duo has been working together for a year, so they can expect great results."
- said Marcell Zsámboki, president of the Hungarian Dance and Sports Association, in connection with the excellent result.
