As we previously reported, a film was made about the prime minister who changed the regime. The presentation of the work was held yesterday in Budapest.

The screening of the film Blokád was held on Tuesday at former Prime Minister József Antall's former workplace, the Toldy Ferenc High School in the capital. Hungary's Oscar-nominated film deals with the history of the 1990 taxi blockade and the historical and political role of József Antall, the first freely elected prime minister after the regime change. The work will be shown in cinemas from today.

The ceremony was attended by László Kövér, the President of the Parliament, but members of József Antall's government and former and current students of the school also attended.

Csaba Káel, the government commissioner responsible for the development of the motion picture industry, highlighted at the presentation the significance of the fact that more than thirty years after the fateful events, the first movie, Blokád, was made about the first freely elected Prime Minister of Hungary, József Antall. He emphasized that the regime change was the starting point of today's Hungary. Many people were also personal participants of the events, they felt that they were part of historical moments, which they must document authentically for posterity at all costs.

Young people should also know the origins of Hungarian democracy, its first major crisis and its solution, along with the events and facts related to it, said the government commissioner.

As he pointed out, József Antall's whole life was determined by human support.

It was not an easy situation in 1956 and in 1990, fate tested him with enormous challenges. Csaba Káel added that the movie Blokád tells about how he passed these tests in the language of motion pictures.

András Porogi, the director of the Toldy Ferenc High School, said at the ceremony that József Antall taught Hungarian literature and history and was also head of class at the high school for two and a half years from 1957 to 1959.

The director quoted how one of his students remembered him:

Most of the boys wanted to be just such, slightly superior, sometimes slightly sarcastic, bold, knowledgable gentlemen,

upon seeing whom a party secretary immediately realizes that he has completely lost the class struggle.

The director said that the memory of József Antall is preserved in the high school. His first commemorative plaque is on the wall of the high school in Toldy Ferenc Street, and a permanent exhibition was also created in his memory.

"The memory of József Antall has become part of the Tellys identity," he said, and then thanked producer Tamás Lajos for taking the pageant to the high school, thereby strengthening the school's Antall cult.

The main roles of the film Blokád are Zoltán Seress and jr. In addition to Attila Vidnyánszky, he is played by Tibor Gáspár, Zsolt Végh and Ildikó Tóth.

Blokád was produced by Tamás Lajos, written by Norbert Köbli and directed by Ádám Tősér. The cinematographer is András Nagy, the set designer is Tamás Pataki, and the costume designer is Tünde Kemenesi.

The domestic audience can see the work nationwide from October 20 through InterCom distribution.

The film Blokád was nominated by Hungary in the 95th Oscar competition in the international film category.
