As in previous years, the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office will announce the Subcarpathian children's feeding program this year, announced János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary responsible for national policy at the Prime Minister's Office.

The state secretary announced: within the framework of the program, kindergarten and lower grade students of Hungarian educational institutions in Transcarpathia can apply for a one-time meal subsidy of HUF 30,000. He added: in 2021, 6,591 children received support.

János Árpád Potápi recalled: since 2015, the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office has been supporting almost all layers of Transcarpathian Hungarian society within the framework of a special tender system, thus helping Transcarpathian Hungarians to stay in their homeland.

He added:

over the past years, the program has greatly contributed to preventing Transcarpathian Hungarians from leaving their homeland en masse.

He pointed out: the children's feeding program is part of the Transcarpathian social program package, but this year - given that

in February, attendance education stopped in Transcarpathia and only started again in September - the children's meal program is announced separately.

According to the state secretary, "one of the biggest successes of the past months is that almost all Hungarian-language public education institutions in Transcarpathia managed to start attendance education. The school enrollment figures show that, in the current uncertain war situation, the majority of Transcarpathian Hungarians are still staying in their homeland. By announcing the program this year, we also want to contribute to easing the financial burden of parents, as well as ensuring that all Hungarian preschool and elementary school children in Transcarpathia have access to hot meals."

The application can be submitted from October 19, 2022 to November 18, 2022. The "KMKSZ" Charity Foundation is involved in the administration of the support.
