When we get advice from a person who has achieved success in life, we always feel stronger.
The American actor is known to be a believer in God, so he was asked to say a few words at a university graduation ceremony in the USA. He put it like this:
"In everything we do, we must put God first. Everything I have, everything I've managed to achieve in life, my successes, my life, I owe to God. Everything is by God's mercy. I graduated from university 40 years ago, my grades were not great at all. I was sitting in my mother's shop, looking in the mirror and thinking about what to do with my life. My grandmother, who was sitting calmly on a chair, smiled, and then calmly said, you will get a lot in life, people will get to know you and you can change the lives of many people, you don't have to do anything else, you just have to believe in God."
Then he continued:
“People know me, I may have changed lives, but that's not the important thing; the important thing is that what my grandmother said stayed with me. It helped, I got the road alignment.
I may not have always been with God, but God has always been with me. In everything you do, put God first.
Dare to dream big, learn and set goals. Dreams without goals are just dreams, without goals they only feed sadness. Have goals, life goals, daily and weekly goals. I try to set a goal for each day, sometimes my goal is not to scold someone every day. It is important to have a goal in order to be disciplined.”
Afterwards, the twice-Oscar-winning actor also touched on discipline:
"Without discipline, we will not reach our goal, hard work, mistakes and the things we learn bear fruit. Successful people are successful because they work, they are disciplined, but they also make mistakes.
If you don't make mistakes, you don't know how to make things better.
Don't confuse movement with progress. If we are not standing still, it does not mean that we are moving forward. If we run around in circles, we're not getting anywhere, right? Note, you will never see a truck loaded with personal belongings behind the hearse on the way to the cemetery. It's not how much you have and what you have, but what you do with what you have."
In conclusion, he gave a couple of good pieces of advice to his audience:
"At night, before you go to bed, before you pray, put your slippers under your bed, because then when you wake up and bend down, you can thank God that you have been given another day to do good things. People, put God first every day!”
