Every year, the employees of the Bükki National Park Administration offer new areas that volunteer environmentalists can plant.

The Eger-based Békatutaj Szabadidősport Egyesület, as part of the cooperation with the Bükki National Park Board in 2019, planted trees again this year, they wrote on the national park's website .

The fourth patch of forest was also created, which was planted by Békatutaj passengers, tour guides and volunteers, this time in the Heves Grassy Wetlands Landscape Protection District, next to the Szürke Szállás.

As part of the cooperation agreement concluded five years ago, the tree planting took place in 2023 at a new location, on the border of Tarnaszentmiklós, at the national park's newly established, own animal farm.

More than forty nature lovers grabbed hole drills, spades and shovels. Most of the hundreds of saplings were also surrounded by a fence to minimize the chance of wild damage.

The volunteer action organized on November 25, 2023, in addition to the Gray Accommodation, achieved a double goal, in addition to the climate protection goals, nature conservation aspects are also emphasized.

In addition to achieving climate protection goals, the smaller tree plantings created in the surroundings of the homestead, by strengthening native saplings (especially pedunculate oak), will also provide an opportunity as a nesting site for the area's bird species (e.g. blackbirds, warblers, blue and red warblers, etc.).

On the other hand, the planting of trees also serves to protect the livestock farm, thus we can provide a higher "feeling of comfort" to all the "residents" of the farm.

Thanks to the work of the association and its volunteers, the groups of trees, rows of trees and "forests" can now provide the promise of the future not only near Eger, in the Borsodi-Mezőség Landscape Protection District, but also in the Heves Grasslands.
