The slum, located a few hundred meters from the Városliget, would be the envy of India and Mexico.

The homeless have taken over Rákosrendező, who have created a tin city for themselves just a few hundred meters from the Városliget. In the several-kilometer lane next to the former railway station, shacks made of hazardous waste and wooden boards touch each other. Hundreds, even thousands, have been living here in the center of Budapest for a long time.

A suffocating smoke spreads over the abandoned area: the residents of the huts burn with wood brought from the forest, but mostly with garbage.

The smoke is led out of the huts through thin pipes, it is a miracle that there has not been a major fire in Rákosrendező so far.

Garbage is piled up in the immediate vicinity of the shacks, often the stream of garbage starts from the door of the shacks. It is clear that the residents of the tin city also contributed greatly to the fact that the railway station, which had once seen better days, turned into an illegal garbage dump.

They feel the area is theirs so much that they try to keep strangers away with fighting dogs.

For example, one of the men living there warned Metropol employees that if his dog a few meters away were to break its leash, it would certainly bite their throats. The frenzied barking of the pitbull-looking dogs can be heard from far away, so no sane person would set foot in this area.

Hundreds of illegals may live in the abandoned railway station. One of them, for example, said that he moved from Ózd to the Városliget, according to him, he had a criminal record, which is why he decided on this way of life.

The tin city of Rákosrendrező presents a mixed picture: some people live in caravans with glass doors, and there are others who only got a tent that was put together. Many people lock their cabins with a padlock, but there is also a device whose entrance is covered with an ordinary nylon.

The laws of the jungle rule in Károszéndez.

According to the people who live here, theft, blackmail and intimidation of each other are common. Someone reported that a miscreant smashed his hut with an ax, so he had to move to the other end of Rákosrendező.

It is unbelievable that the tin city, located only a few hundred meters from the Városliget, has not caught anyone's eye so far. The conditions prevailing here are certainly not worthy of the nation's capital.

Mayor Gergely Karácsony recently found himself in a heated controversy in relation to Cancer Director. Although he has stated several times in recent days that he thinks it is an "incredibly bad idea" to build high-rise buildings in the area, a few years ago he also dreamed of high-rise buildings in the abandoned rust zone, and this plan was recorded in the Zugló settlement image manual of the time. The mayor, who is now protesting against the development of the government, then dreamed of high-rises and skyscrapers of the new business district in Oslo called "Vonalkód" for the Krákosdrénzé area.
