Single-use plastic cannot be sold in Hungary from July.

The distribution of several plastic products will be prohibited, according to the government decree published in the Hungarian Gazette  .

According to them, the placing on the market of light plastic bags will also be prohibited, with the exception of bags of 15 microns and above, as well as bags made of biodegradable plastic.

Pursuant to the decree , ear cleaning sticks, cutlery (fork, knife, spoon, chopsticks), plates, straws, drink stirrers, sticks to be attached to and hold balloons, including the structure that attaches the balloon to the stick, are subject to restrictions.

In addition, food storage containers made of expanded polystyrene will be prohibited from being placed on the market.
