Although a country knew the singer's songs, he was not recognized on the street.

György Korda has been on stage for 66 years this year. As a guest of Petőfi Rádió's Kultúrfitnesz program, he recalled the beginnings, including the day when he first told his family about his career plans. He admitted on the broadcast that he was not a diligent student, so his father sent him to work as an assistant, but it soon became clear that this profession was not for him.

"I realized that I really wanted to be a singer. When he said to me: "Son, until now there have only been honest people in our family," Korda recalled the beginnings.

"Among my ancestors, we don't find artists, yet this profession attracted me. After military service, I already knew for sure that I would sing and that I had to find a way to stand out from my peers," said György Korda.

The entertainer added that at the beginning of his career there was no television, so even though many people listened to his songs, he was not recognized on the street at that time.

"Once I went into a pastry shop, said hello, and then introduced myself as Lehel Németh. At that time, he was a successful dance singer, and I would have liked to be seen as such" - György Korda shared the story from the past, whose popularity is clearly shown by the fact that

during the period of the coronavirus epidemic, he was recognized even in a mask, only as his wife, Balázs Klárira.

The married couple is still active in concerts and can be seen regularly on the screen, for example in Duna's music show, Let's do the festival! as jury members. "This show has a spirit, which is why it fills a gap. They talk about it, people love it," emphasized György Korda.
