The former artistic director and chief director of the Újpest Theatre, honorary citizen of Budapest, died at the age of 81.

The mayor of Újpest shared the sad news on social media. Tibor Déri said that Dózsa's family told him the sad news.

"I share their grief, I express my sincere condolences to them! László Dózsa is considered by the Újpest Municipality to be its own dead man," wrote the mayor.

Due to his artist mother, László Dózsa spent his childhood at the comedy camp of the Műszínkör in Népliget, he graduated from the Theater and Film Academy in 1963, then the Csokonai National Theater in Debrecen (1967–1970), the Madách Theater (1970–1980, 1991–), the He strengthened the company of the Folk Theater (1980–1983) and the National Theater (1983–1991).

In addition to the theater, he also appeared in a number of cinema and TV films, including Sárá Sándor's 80 Husárs (1978), Linda (1986), and Kisváros (1998), but he was also very active as a dubbing actor: according to the dubbing database, he voiced 391 characters during his career.
