Dániel Gryllus and János Lackfi made a special album entitled Here they visited the Earth. The work is a complete song cycle of works based on biblical ideas.

The songs are illustrated by paintings and engravings in the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian National Gallery, the organizers told MTI.

As it was written, Dániel Gryllus, the leader of Kaláka, and János Lackfi, poet and writer, wrote a song of praise together in the spring of 2020, during the coronavirus epidemic - communicating by e-mail and phone - which was well received in the online space. The two artists continued to create, thus creating a complete song cycle of works based on biblical ideas.

The music that inspired János Lackfi's poems, his songs accompanied by the zither of Dániel Gryllus and the harmonica playing of György Ferenczi, who participated in the recordings, can be downloaded free of charge from the Kaláka Music Store. The audio material is also available on all well-known music distributors and music stores.

"As Easter approached, the organizers of the Várkert Bazaar came up with the idea to write a song with János on their online channel for each day of Holy Week, using the praise song. We worked happily and the series was a success, so they asked us to write a new song for Pentecost. At that time, it was already clear that this would become a record," recalled Dániel Gryllus.

János Lackfi added that during the pandemic, they felt that the public was hungry for comforting and uplifting works.

"Sheet notes scribbled with a pencil, photographed with a phone, mp3s, and texts were sent back and forth by e-mail until the song cycle was complete. These resounding, eternal stories, which permeate and define our lives, are even more striking with the wonderful visual material".
