With the increased pension and the 13th monthly pension in February, the support for the elderly does not end.

The 6 percent increased pension arrives on Friday, more than two and a half million elderly people will receive HUF 13,000 more on average - this not only follows, but also exceeds the expected inflation, as according to the Hungarian National Bank's forecast, it will be around 4-5 percent this year consumer prices may rise. In February, the 13th monthly pension will also come, which means that the postman will receive two months' salary next month.

Meanwhile, the state secretary responsible for families announced that the amount of some family allowances has also increased.

It is not the first time that the purchase value of pensions has increased: since 2010, the government has increased the allowance by nine percentage points, higher than inflation.

However, the support for the elderly does not end here. The Minister of National Economy, Márton Nagy, expects a 4 percent GDP growth this year, which means that the pension premium may also come.

The Hungarian economy is getting stronger again - economic policy expert Géza Sebestyén talked about this on M1. According to the specialist, the reduction of inflation and interest rates, the constantly expanding investments and the disbursement of EU funds also help the development of the economy and the well-being of the people.

"Those who work can be happy, because the economy will work well and there will be jobs, wages will also increase. And pensioners can also be happy, as the good economic dynamics will also be reflected in the pension premium," predicted Géza Sebestyén, head of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium's economic policy workshop.

From January, in addition to pensions, the minimum wage, the guaranteed minimum wage and family allowances will also increase significantly, as reported by Ágnes Hornung, the State Secretary responsible for families at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation.

The maximum amount of the child care fee will increase to HUF 373,000, which is three times what mothers received in 2010.

The fee for home care for children has increased from HUF 100,000 to more than HUF 266,000. But this year the childcare sick pay will also increase significantly, the maximum daily amount of this benefit will be almost HUF 18,000.

As of January 1, recipients of the so-called graduate gyed can also expect a higher amount: the benefit has increased to HUF 186,760 for students participating in bachelor's programs, and to HUF 228,200 for those participating in master's programs. Those concerned will receive the January benefits in an increased amount at the time of the February payments.
