There is only one day left to fill in the national consultation questionnaires. The government is seeking the opinion of the Hungarian people on 11 issues, such as the maintenance of utility cuts, the creation of migrant ghettos or Ukraine's accession to the EU. According to the analyst speaking to Kossuth Rádio, the more people fill in the questionnaire, the more weight the Hungarians' opinion will have in Brussels, so the Hungarian government can stand up for national interests even more strongly.

In the summer of 2022, Brussels decided to make the delivery of Ukrainian products to the European Union duty-free due to the war. The goal was to deliver the products to Africa, but that did not happen. The grain stayed here, so the Hungarian government had to take restrictive measures, because the livelihood of Central European farmers, including Hungarian farmers, was in danger.

István Jakab, the president of the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Associations and Farmers' Cooperatives, spoke on M1 about how Brussels does not protect European farmers at all, rather it forces Ukraine's EU membership. According to him

with this step, the left-wing leadership of the union would destroy the producers, the market and expose the European people to health risks.

Hungarians can express their opinion on Ukraine's EU membership and the import of Ukrainian grain and agricultural products in the national consultation that lasts until the middle of the week.

The government asks people's opinions on a total of 11 questions. In the consultation on the protection of our sovereignty, the issue of reducing overheads, maintaining the extra profit tax or even the interest rate cap is included. The government is also interested in Hungarians' opinions on matters such as the creation of migrant ghettos, the war, and whether the respondents think it is right to influence Hungarian politics with money sent from Brussels or overseas.

Ervin Nagy, the XXI. The Század Institute analyst spoke on Kossuth Radio about how this year's consultation was very successful, since more than 1.2 million people responded, but it is important that those who have not yet done so fill out the questionnaire.

The opinion of the Hungarian people will therefore have more weight in Brussels, where the Hungarian government can stand up for national interests even more strongly.

The national consultation can be completed on paper or online for two more days, until January 10.
