The father, who had never had any debt, also renovated the apartment, and one day before Christmas Eve he received the order that they had to leave the municipal apartment.

Mayor András Pikó may have abused his power, claims an VIII. district father. László Kecskeméti and his family would be evicted by the Józsefváros municipality, however, according to the father, there is no reason why a rental contract is canceled.

"We are the victims of a political revenge campaign, the left-wing mayor cannot officially justify why he is evicting a family," the father told Metropol , who received the order one day before Christmas Eve that they must leave the municipal apartment.

László Kecskeméti received the court order at Christmas, shortly after the birth of his first child.

Since then, the 15 days set for moving out have passed, but as he says, he will not take his wife or his newborn daughter to the cold street, nor will he leave his apartment because of the mayor's one-man decision. He originally received the one-and-a-half-room apartment as a public service apartment in 2016, as he worked for a district company and renovated it. Although he changed jobs in the fall of 2019, he asked to continue the rental relationship.

The social, health and housing commission usually agrees to this in the case of apartments rented at the market price, if there are no arrears of fees. However, in the case of László Kecskeméti, in view of the Covid epidemic, the mayor decided alone and rejected the request, the reason for this is unknown to the man. As the father of the family said, the mayor's decision does not contain any reason, but there is no rational reason either.

He has never had any debt, he has also renovated the apartment, there is no reason why a lease is usually terminated

- emphasized the father of the family. He pointed out: in cases of this nature, the practice is to extend the lease for another five years, but András Pikó would still be put out on the street with his family.

The father also talked about how he had asked Piko countless times, both in writing and verbally, for what reason he had made this decision, but the mayor repeated himself every time, and never gave a clear and meaningful answer.

This is all stomach-churning, as Piko's decision was made before Christmas 2020. However, the court closed my case before Christmas 2023, so the eviction order arrived under the Christmas tree next to little Amira Anna. The only thing keeping us from being put on the street with the baby until spring is the eviction moratorium

- pointed out the head of the family. The man joined Józsefvárosi Gazdálkodósi Központ Zrt. about ten years ago and worked there until the elections.

According to László Kecskeméti, he obtained the public service apartment fairly, through a tender, "from which András Pikó would now evict me by force, by a single decision." This is a petty political revenge on the part of András Pikó, because he worked together with his predecessors in the government party, Máté Kocsis and Sára Botond, and since then he has expressed his opinion several times as a professional and as a civilian: "the district does not work, the cases are at a standstill, they do not deal with the population".
