The head of the Slovak government does not speculate, he told directly what Kiev should do, and he will also inform the head of the Ukrainian government that he opposes the country's NATO accession.

The only way to end the war against Ukraine is for Kiev to hand over part of its territory to Russia and declare that it does not want to become a NATO member, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Saturday, according to a Politico report, speaking to Slovak public television RTVS.

"Some kind of compromise has to be created. What do they expect? How will the Russians leave Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk? This is unreal," stated Fico, who also spoke about:

Ukraine is not an independent and sovereign state, but is entirely under the influence and control of the United States.

Fico's party came to power in December after Smer won the September election on promises to stop sending weapons to Ukraine, block Kiev's possible NATO membership and oppose sanctions against Russia.

In connection with his meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Smihal this week, Fico confirmed again that he is against Ukraine joining NATO.

"I will tell him that I am against Ukraine's NATO membership and I will veto it," Fico said, referring to Smihal.

"Ukraine joining NATO would be the basis for World War III, nothing else," he added, reiterating that Slovakia would no longer supply arms to the war-torn country.

The Slovak Ministry of Culture also announced the resumption of cooperation with Russia and Belarus after it was suspended in March 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
