The Hungarians have come...
According to the information provided by the Hungarian Confectionery Industry Association, the European Championship bronze medal won last year ensured the Hungarian team progressed to the World Championship finals, which ended on Monday. In the competition, the team of South Korea finished in second place, while the gold medal was again won by defending champion Italy.
As written, the Hungarian team chose the novel Alice in Wonderland as its theme, which matched the competition tasks.
The Hungarian team performed amazingly throughout the ice cream world championship
During the four-day competition, decorated ice cream jars, ice cream cakes, and ice cream sundae desserts were made. They presented three types of warm appetizers combined with gourmet salty ice cream, an ice sculpture, and a chocolate artistic decoration.
We couldn't miss the sculpture made using barbecue and caramel. In addition to all this, they also had to prepare a milk and water-based ice cream made using a surprise ingredient. Of course, all elements had to fit the chosen theme. As you know, the Gelato World Cup has been held every two years since 2003. Pastry professionals from all over the world come to the competition to draw attention to the excellence of traditional artisanal ice cream, to contribute to the professional development of the sector and to present the latest trends.
