Origó pointed out . The mayor claimed: In Brussels, he achieved that the capital received approximately HUF 300 billion in development funds from the European Union.

However, the mentioned sum was actually fought for by Viktor Orbán, because this is it

part of the resources due to Hungary, the ten billion euros, which were approved in Brussels in December.

The news portal found out: in reality

Karácsony achieved at most one hundredth, one percent, of what he claims in terms of direct sources.

Because the projects mentioned by the mayor are included one by one in operational programs designed by the government, and in the so-called recovery plan, which - taking into account the needs of the capital - the government developed and adopted in Brussels.

Their support sources are included in the Ikop, Ikop Plusz, Top Plusz, Kehop Plusz programs designed and managed by the government and in the recovery plan. The mentioned programs also include a number of additional developments - on a larger scale than those mentioned by Karácsony - that the government itself initiated and is implementing in the capital area.

Christmas is decorated with a different feather

Some of the programs mentioned by the current mayor, such as the purchase of electricity, were started during the time of his predecessor, István Tarlós. According to Origó's information, since Budapest is more developed than the average Hungarian level (like all other capitals), it would have been sufficient to support the capital's programs with a total of HUF 83.5 billion based on EU rules.

So Gergely Karácsony, for lack of a better word, flaunts another pen, and moreover he lies that the government wanted to give zero. Budapest receives the hundreds of billions of forints through the government, but directly, on its own, it receives only one percent of it, barely three billion forints.

Karácsony lied 99 percent of the truth

- noted the news portal. According to their information, in 2022-2023, the Budapest municipality and BKK obtained a total of 7.1 million euros, i.e. less than three billion forints, in direct EU money from Brussels. A hundredth, a single percent of the amount indicated by Karácsony.

So the saying that Karácsony is ninety-nine percent Gyurcsány has become true again.

because he got only one percent of the amount he said, they pointed out. Because it is memorable, Karácsony's main ally admitted that he worked to prevent Hungary from receiving the resources it deserves.
